Kaizer Chiefs Crisis 2. Itumeleng Khune, a player that the club can call their son, has been in the club for most of his life, even starting as a striker, converting into a goalkeeper. As a goalkeeper, he was inspired by the man who kept him on the bench for many seasons, Brain spiderman Baloyi who even gave Khune SpiderKid nickname as a result. The moment Khune grabbed his chance, he didnt look back, Baloyi even decided to leave the club, though, before, Rowen Fernandez became the first choice keeper but not for many seasons . Muhshin Ertugual gave the young Khune a chance, in that season, he played in the inauguration of the MTN8 cup final against Sundowns, where he outplayed Brian Baloyi. From that day he has been loyal and humble towards the love and peace team. His heroics and match winning antics became a joy to watch for the soccer fraternity, he was dubbed Mzansis finest, Mzansi number one as a result. Khunes skills and talent according to many soccer specialists in South Africa could make him the top keeper in Europe. Khune got injured at early stages of the season, with the next match being the MTN8 final against Orlando Pirates. Most were scared that Pirates will walk-over Chiefs at that day, with the on form strike partnership of Lehlogonolo Majoro and Kermit Erasmus. Brilliant Khuzwayo was chosen to lead the berth, he didnt disappoint, he earned a man of the match through his performances. From that day he never backed down, earning himself a Bafana Bafana call up. Khune became his second choice in the last league matches played. This according to fans and some reports didnt sit down well with our captain. Currently Khune stands on a thin ice, he has put the team in a bit of anxiety mood. Khune has 6months left on his contract, he is yet to make a decision, whilst the team cant offer him a contract without his agent who is in the overseas. Bobby Motaung, the teams manager, has assured fans that their skipper will remain at the club, he belongs to them. Amid reports that Khune might sign with fellow arch-rivals Mamelodi Sundowns or Orlando Pirates. Many Kaizer Chiefs supporters, truly speaking will be emotionally affected if he moves to those teams mentioned above. If he even does, it will be a matter of that Khune was not happy at the club, just like what Lehlogonolo Majoro went through, however, Khune stamped down those speculations, even posting a pic of him being proud as a Khosi player. Bobby Motaung recently said Kaizer Chiefs wont put their budget on danger because of Khunes situation, meaning they will offer him a balanced deal, if he refuses, it wont do no harm because players have left in the same manner as Khune would. But if Khune joins Mamelodi Sundowns or Orlando Pirates, it wont be a great move if he really cares about us as Kaizer Chiefs loyal supporters. We wish he could go play abroad, in that we wont quarrel about it because he deserves that opportunity, with a player of his magnitude he can go all the way abroad. Khune as reporters have suggested, will play in a friendly match against German Bundesliga based TSG Hoffenheim 1899 on Friday. Questions A. Do you want Khune to stay, looking at the tight schedule ft CAF,Nedbank cup and the league?? B. Or he can leave and join any team of his choice, to give Khuzwayo a chance C. He can go to any club but not locally Share your thoughts #SweetMo
