Karachi, October 19, 2014 SCIENCE AND ISLAM (Part-1) Excerpt taken by: Eng. S. M. A. Hassan The basic principles of science are based upon the observations of nature and their rational reasoning whereas evolution of science is based upon experiments. The Holy Quran stresses the man for acquiring knowledge and for provoking thoughts by the following frequently used words which arise question mark and curiosity in the human mind. Arabic English translation 1. Afalaa Yanzaroon? Don’t you see/observe? 2. Afalaa Yatafakkaroon? Don’t you think/ponder? 3. Afalaa Yatadabbaroon? Don’t you analyze? The Holy Quran says: “Afalaa Yanzaroona ilal ible kaifa …….Kaifa Satehat”|. Surah Al-Ghashiah (17-19) Translation: Don’t they see camels that how these have been created. And to the skies that how these have been stretched high. And to these mountains that how these have been installed and to the earth that how it is spread. Allah Hafiz (To be continued)
