Karol K. Ricke, died Friday, November 29, 2013 at her home in Sharon, Kansas. She was born August 30, 1942 in Nasvhille, KS the daughter of Frank and Rose (Schwartz) Theis. A longtime resident of the Sharon Community she attended grade school at St. Leo and high school at St. Marys in Wichita, KS, graduating in 1960. She also attended Vernons School of Cosmetology and was a hair dresser. She was a member of the St. Boniface Catholic Church at Sharon, KS, and loved to sing in the choir, she was a member of the Altar Society, St. Boniface, and the D of I in St. Leo. She was united in marriage to Kenneth H. Ricke on August 13, 1966 in St. Leo, KS. He survives. Other survivors include four sons, Bart (Ingrid), Cunningham, KS; Bret (Cheri), Attica, KS; Brice (Lynette), Garden Plain, KS; Brock (Katie), Wichita, KS; four daughters, Lisa (Todd) Fischer, Sharon, KS; Sandy Ricke, Sharon, KS; Kara (Ricky) Nelson, Attica, KS; Karma (Lyle) Redgate, Anthony, KS. She will be greatly missed by 25 grandchildren; Kelsey, Kortney & Kylee Ricke, Christopher, Alyssa, Sara, Ryan, & Branden Fischer; Jordan Ricke, Brittany, Brooke, Brady, Brenna & Baylee Ricke, Sydnee, Lyndsee & Jaycee Ricke, Makenna, Drew & Kami Ricke, Kendra, Kendall & Konner Nelson, Zoie and Chase Redgate; her siblings Mary Lou Jarmer, Alice Mertens, Eileen Danahy, Jody Meyers, Ethel Orth, Ken Theis, Sam Theis, Sandy Mertens, Sally Fischer, and Phil Theis. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Frank Theis, and her sisters, Betty Tracy & Dee Mills, as well as a foster daughter Ashley. She was the happiest while caring for her grandchildren, foster children, and many others. She was affectionately known as Grammie to all children. Along with the rest of the family Karol was an avid KU basketball fan and enjoyed cheering them on with her family. Visitation will be from 1:00-5:00 p.m., Sunday at Larrison Funeral Home 120 E. Lincoln, Medicine Lodge, KS 67104 Vigil Service will be at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, December 1, 2013 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Sharon, KS. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 2, 2013 at the church with Fr. Firmin Kyaw presiding. Burial will be in the St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery, Sharon, KS. Memorials may be made to The Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Fund in care of the funeral home.
