Kashif Razi: The answer is Hazrat Israfeel A.S.. When the Prophet - TopicsExpress

Kashif Razi: The answer is Hazrat Israfeel A.S.. When the Prophet was asked about this trumpet he said, It is a horn of light upon which Israfil blows. Scholars have differed whether the trumpet will be blow twice or thrice. Most scholars (including Imam Qurtubi, Imam Sawi, Imam Ghazali, and others) hold the opinion that the trumpet will be blown twice: at the first blow, people will die; at the second blow, they will be raised back to life. This is based on the verse, And the trumpet is blown, and all who are in the heavens and all who are in the earth fall dead, save him whom Allah willeth. Then it is blown a second time, and behold them standing waiting! (39:68). Other scholars hold the opinion that the trumpet will be blown three times. Among the proofs they cite for their position is the verse, And (remind them of) the Day when the Trumpet will be blown, and all who are in the heavens and the earth will start in fear, save him whom Allah willeth. And all come unto Him, humbled. (27:87), deducing from this verse that before the two blows mentioned above, there is another blow that will strike fear in everyones hearts. Those who hold the position that there will be only two blows join between the two verses by saying that the first blow shall strike fear into peoples hearts and then cause them to die. A Hadeeth reads: “Then the Trumpet will be blown, and no one hears it except that he will bend his neck to one side (in an attempt to listen to it) and raise it from the other side.” Then he [the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention )] said: “And the first to hear it (the Trumpet) will be a man who is busy in repairing the tank meant for supplying water to his camels. He [the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention )] said: “He will fall dead and the people will also fall dead.” Moreover, the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) told us about the speed of the death of the people when the Hour will take place, as he said: “The Hour will occur while two men spreading a garment in front of them but they will not be able to sell it, nor fold it up; and the Hour will be established when a man has milked his she-camel and has taken away the milk but he will not be able to drink it; and the Hour will be established before a man repairing a tank (for his livestock) is able to water (his animals) in it; and the Hour will be established when a person has raised a morsel (of food) to his mouth but will not be able to eat.
