In the long term, can cause urinary tract infections Here are some tips to avoid dehydration DURING FASTING: Drink 8 Glasses a Day On average, a person needs about 8 glasses of fluid intake each day. This fluid intake could be through mineral water, fruits high in liquids, or other foods. Try to consume water spread across the time you can take fluids; from dawn and similarly, when breaking the fast. The amount of glasses should increase with the amount of activity you do throughout the day. Avoid Caffeine and Carbonated Drinks Wherever possible, minimize or avoid consuming beverages / foods containing caffeine. Caffeine has the ability to eliminate fluids from the body. If youwant to enjoy a warm drink, choose a herbal tea such as green tea or chamomile tea. Avoid soft drinks that can make your stomachfeel full Experiment with Mineral Water Many people do not like taking mineral water because they do not like the taste. This can be overcome by flavouring the mineral water. You can add a piece of sliced lemon, lime juice, cucumber, even mint into the mineral water, making it have flavor and freshness. But avoidadding sugar or other sweeteners. Drinking Milk To prevent dehydration in children, you can give milk. A study conducted at McMaster University shown that milk is better to avoid dehydration in children than any type of supplement drinks or water because milk is rich in protein, carbohydrates, calcium, and electrolytes.
