Kashmir varsity postpones exam after students protest The University of Kashmir Monday postponed the annual examination for the Bachelors of Education (Bed) after scores of students held a protest demonstration in the campus demanding change in the schedule. Students said their session in the colleges has not yet completed and the university has announced the examination date. "Early examination will spoil our carrier as our syllabus has not been completed yet. We urge the authorities to reschedule the exams,” Bilal Ahmad, a B.Ed student said. “They have issued the datesheet to give advantage to the private colleges while ignoring our concern and putting our future into jeopardy. We have been enrolled in November 2012 and the session ends in November 2013, but they have scheduled the exam from September 28 which is the violation of rules,” another student said. Protests were also held in the press enclave in the summer capital Srinagar. The students appealed minster for higher education Mohammad Akbar Lone to intervene. Under pressure from students sources said that university has postponed the exam.
