Keep in mind that if your comments are posted on Facebook they are - TopicsExpress

Keep in mind that if your comments are posted on Facebook they are public comments and as such are viewable to the public (because like you share other peoples comments, other people can also share your comments with their friends who are not your friends). Think of Facebook as your news channel/media outlet. If the comments are possibly harmful and may encourage comments of the same possibly harmful nature, or cause people to take actions that may be harmful, Facebook has an option to report them as abusive. I prefer to comment on them, rather than send you a message or report them to Facebook. This way there is an immediate counter effect to the possibly harmful nature of the comments, which would not happen if I sent you a message and waited until you decided to reply to the message, or reported you to Facebook. A report to Facebook should only be taken in extreme cases of a threat of violence or actual violence/extremely offensive content. In addition, because Facebook is a public forum, a respectful disagreement with someone’s position should not be a problem. Facebook is not supposed to be your diary. Facebook is supposed to be your media outlet.
