Keeping the global requirement of material Science Engineering, Vivekananda Global University, Jaipur have started B. Sc & M. Sc in Material Science. During the Interview, Prof.( Dr.) Y.K. Vijay, President, VGU told that the study of material science and engineering is very important for the society since growth and development throughout the world needs newer materials with lower cost and better properties. For example, in transport, we need light weight, high strength, durability and smooth finish. In package Industries, again we have polymer bags with metal coating and air tight/water tight storage. In building Industries smooth finish, whether proof thermal insulators, high strength etc. On the globe, whatever resources are available, those have to be used with minimum energy required for processing, recycling and prolonged use, therefore efficient engineering process has to be used and developed for sustaining the environment and ecological balance. Therefore, basic courses in material science and engineering are essential for any academic institution, not only for teaching but research also. A good R & D Laboratory with Innovative methods for material processing and characterization is the key for the success in material Science & Engineering Studies.
