Ken Kuranchie transferred to unknown destination Ho, J - Authorities of the Ho Central Prisons Saturday morning said incarcerated Editor of the Daily Searchlight Newspaper has been transferred to an “unknown prison facility.” “It is normal. We transfer prisoners at anytime to anywhere, so he is no longer here. He has been moved to an unknown facility,” Mr J. Amankrah-Yeboah , Deputy Director of Prisons, told the media. The Volta Regional Executives of the Ghana Journalists Association had gone to the prisons to visit Mr Kuranchie, after Dr. Affail Monney, President of the Association and some journalists were turned away on Friday. The team, which went with some assorted items to be presented to Mr Kuranchie returned to the Volta Regional GJA Secretariat with the items. Mr Amankrah-Yeboah said: “I can’t tell you anything. All I’m saying is that authorities of the Prisons have moved Kuranchie away. You can verify from the Headquarters.” When journalists persisted to know where Mr Kuranchie was transferred to, some officers of the Prisons Service became very hostile and assaulted the journalists verbally
