LATEST UPDATE ON THE IMMIGRATION COURT COMPUTER SYSTEM CRASH It has been already six weeks since the computer system that supports the Immigration Courts across the country have crashed. The problem has kept court clerks from accessing court records, entering new ones in the system, and making audio recordings of hearings. In addition, the immigration court toll-free hotline, which allows people to check on the status of their cases and when their next hearings are, have not been updated. A recorded message warns callers that the hotline hasnt been updated since April 12, 2014. Per recent article of Politico, a top but unnamed Department of Justice official told the Politico that, “Progress has been made in resolving the problems and a fix could be achieved by early next week.” Today, the Immigration Court announced that its electronic databases are functioning as of 9:00 a.m. However, the case information hotline is still not up to date. The agency is working on updating the hotline until all the case information is current.
