Kerala Cricket Association Office Bearers, slowly getting - TopicsExpress

Kerala Cricket Association Office Bearers, slowly getting desperate, have reverted to their old argument that they are not public servants -an argument that was torn to shreds by the High Court of Kerala long back, appreciated wholeheartedly by the Supreme Court. The arguments being put forward now are i) they arent taking money from the Government and ii) they are not even affiliated to the State Sports Council. It is common knowledge how and why KCA chose to forego their Sports Council affiliation, even at the expense of costing their players precious grace marks. The attempt clearly was to try and establish that they were a private body. And the High Court judgement had nothing to do with KCA accepting Govt. funds; it was all to do with them discharging a public duty. Everything is clearly laid down in the landmark order from Justice Sasidharan Nambiar, one which the Supreme court described as a beautifully crafted one. It [the decision] has far reaching consequences. Nothing will progress. Honest people will not come to work for associations like this. Mathew had stated then. Very revealing, then, that he and his cohorts are still working hard for this particular association. The deeply tainted KCA Office bearers may still be getting the odd interim stay on the investigations into their illegal and corrupt activities, but its just a matter of time, boys. Cricket has a habit of kicking you solidly in the balls, regardless of whether you are a player or administrator, just when you feel you are invincible. It will be no different this time too.
