Kody Shook is only 11 years old, new to archery, and landed this amazing buck! Read his story below: This was Kodys first year of Bowhunting, only gun hunting up until now. On his Birthday, in September, he found a new bow, some arrows, practice points and a note that said if you can pull back 45lbs and hit three in the ten ring you can hunt. Fast forward a few months later and this kid can shoot! He also knew his tree stand safety and made dad not only have a safety vest but lifelines as well. Along with the hunt, his sister Kadie had shot a buck in the morning with her Crossbow and the Grave Digger tipped bolt did the job in a red carpet fashion, if you know what I mean. After lunch, Kody decided he wanted to be in a tree by 2:00 p.m. which I though was awful early for an 11 year old kid, but this was his hunt. I told him I would go to the limestone bluffs and look for deer to see how they were moving. It did not take long as at 3:04 p.m. I got the infamous text I got one he would not say how many points or how much it weighs just that he hit it good and heard it crash. He took an angling away shot that hit a little high and back but with the Cut on Contact 100gr Grave Digger Broadhead this amazing 300lb deer only made it 40 yards. I was so proud of this kid at 11 years old all by himself he was able to pass up 15 deer through a season and hold out for a true Pope and Young 134 buck. We are so proud of Kody and are happy to be apart of his first bow hunt (and kill!) Congratulations Kody!
