Koheleth: Wouldn’t a system that discusses what should be moral necessarily be a moral system? Bokonon: No! That’s exactly the point. We would construct a system that only judges moral systems, but never actions themselves. And, while this may seem preposterous, this reflects human thinking. Plenty of us are willing to claim that one moral system is better than another, just like one action can be better than another. And so, morality and meta-morality and so forth would ultimately all rest upon one and the same basis.
