Krista Forbes Jeremy Lewis Breanne Potter Harris Tom Mozley...there is some uncertainty in regards to the severe threat for KC for this afternoon. It all depends on what happens this morning. Thunderstorms over eastern KS will move east over KC this morning with hail and wind being threats. Stronger storms are likely to develop by late afternoon as a second round of cells. Destabilization will depend on clouds clearing after this mornings storms. If it can clear out, there is a much greater risk for severe storms for late this afternoon into the evening. If it remains cloudy...storms are likely but likely wont have the severe threat. It should be noted that most high-res models have a small bulls eye of spinning thunderstorms near St. Joesph with a tornadic cell...this is model data and can be variable and the possibility can be north or south of where the model has it. Looking at the CIPS analog data...it too has a hint of an area north of KC near St. Joe. The main story...if it clears out after the first round of storms this morning, then watch out for the late afternoon.
