Staying in this hotel suite has made me realize I have a very strange phobia (if you could actually call it that) of room service. I dont mind them doing their job, but the thought of them doing it while Im physically in the room wigs me out. The first time it happened, I was sitting on the couch and I hear a knocking on the door followed by housekeeping! and I instinctively got up from the couch, walked into the master bedroom and hid there until she stopped knocking and left. Thank God for one way deadbolt locks. Then this afternoon, same thing. But much creepier. I hear knocking while Im sitting on the couch, followed by the familiar housekeeping! But this time- a mans voice. Instead of hiding this time I decided to just lie down under my blanket and wait him out. But he didnt leave. *click* I hear the basic lock as he inserts his master keycard into the door, followed by a slow turning of the handle. He repeats his procedure. *Knock knock knock*, housekeeping! *Click* *handle turns*. At this point, Im silently staring towards the door thinking this man is somehow going to Houdini his way into my room. It continues. This time, a knocking with a much faster rhythm. A more persistent housekeeping announcement. A noticeably louder turning of the door handle. In my mind, this man is after my life. Finally, after I dont move a muscle and refrain from making any sort of noise; he leaves. Like I said...its not that I care if they actually come inside and clean...I just get really wigged out if they try to do it while Im physically here.
