L.A.W. Lewd Asian Women - great show last night. Tickets were over sold with a waiting list. We sadly had to turn two couples away (but one couple got online tickets for tonight and the other couple will return for a September show). Interesting how each audience has its own personality. Last night was the most polite audience weve had thus far. They clapped in between each act and scene change! At the end of night, we asked by a show of hands, whether this was the first Lucky Chaos show for any members of the audience. Nearly everyone raised their hands. WOW! Reaching new patrons. Big thanks to William Hamner for spreading the word and filling the audience with 20 of his friends and coworkers and a few judges! We had very compelling discussions after the show with theater patrons who are now my new facebook friends: Lucy Wu, Cindy Soo and Hula Halau Kaeepa. Also felt the love from members of the Austin theater community and especially Trouble Puppet Theater Company whose Kathryn Rogers came out to see her first Lucky Chaos show last night. Also had a great showing from friends Drew Harris (whose laugh I could hear during my acts), and the lovely Mia Hsu Burton and her husband Ken. My HOA President Robert and his wife, our Neighborhood Book Club Leader Rosa also showed us love in the audience and are telling neighbors about it. With every show, we are reaching broader audiences and making new friends. Live theater is the real social media.
