LAGOS OHANEZES DEMANDS: A slap on the face of yorubas nationhood. Quite honestly, the recent statement credited to the so called chairman of Ohaneze, an igbo social cultural group residents in Lagos is laughable n v unfortunate. A deputy governorship slot, 5 seats in the State Assemble, 4 local government chairmanship positions, 5 commissioners in d cabinet n so on n so 4rt, for any party dat wld get igbos votes. I expected the man 2 demand 4 good governance, rule of law and a stop 2 anti-pples policies dat wld smoothen d wheel of progress in a democratic society. So, what d igbos want is power n nothing more. Well if that is what is important 2 them, then Afenifere shld be allowed to make similar demand in Anambra or Abia State. Since yorubas allowed Bakassi Boys to operate inside Ladipo market, OPC shld also be allowed 2 do same inside Aba market. You see, this demands shows d bad side of an average ibo man. Anywhere he is, he wld like to dominate. It is an insult on d yorubas n we demand an apology from this drunken man within d spate of time. In as much as we yorubas r very accomodation n liberal, dat does not give the drunk 2 dredge us with his vommits. Can he make similar demand in Borno or Kano State? We yorubas stood against Gov Fashola d last time he deported some igbos, the week dat followed, this same Ohaneze led by an igbo cabinet member in Gov Fasholas govt were seen dinning with him at a function in Lagos oblivious of d inhuman treatment metted out 2 their kinsmen a week earlier. I do respect d igbos a lot most especially for their enterprising agility but politically, they r still far behind. This is a fact. Ill advice our resourceul igbo brothers 2 concentrate on the area they r good in, making money. We dont nd their votes if it coms 2 dat.
