LAGOS ORGANISES WORKSHOP ON EFFECTIVE PUBLIC PROCUREMENT MANAGEMENT FOR PERMANENT SECRETARIES The Lagos State Head of Service (HOS), Mrs. Oluseyi Williams has called on accounting officers in the state civil service to brace up to the challenges embedded in the implementation of the Public Procurement Law by ensuring that they acquire first hand knowledge on the new public procurement process. Mrs. Williams, who made call at a One-Day Workshop on Effective Public Procurement Management for Permanent Secretaries in the State Public Service, said there is an urgent need for Accounting Officers to fully understand their individual and collective roles in the implementation of the new procurement law. The Workshop, which was organized by the State Public Procurement Agency and held at the De-Renaissance Hotel, Ikeja, focused on the Management of the Procurement Cycle, the Lagos Public Procurement law 2011 and the key roles of the Accounting officers. Two papers were also presented during the Workshop; the first presentation was by the General Manger/CEO of the Agency, Engr. Akin Onimole on Procurement Implementation and Project Management while the second paper on Administrative Review/ Complaint Procedure and Offences /Penalties was presented by the Secretary/Legal Adviser of the Agency, Ms. Titi Shitta-Bey. The Workshop was well attended by Permanent Secretaries in the State Public Service.
