LANCASTER CA -- PLEASE SHARE THIS SENIOR BOY NAMED GIZMO! PLEDGE/ADOPT/FOSTER/RESCUE! TAG OTHERS TO SHARE! Lancaster, CA - #A3333076 - SENIOR DUMPED like trash!!!!! My name is Gizmo and Im an approximately 10 years, 9 month old male mastiff. I am already neutered. I have been at the Lancaster Animal Care Center since January 19, 2015. I am available on January 19, 2015. You can visit me at my temporary home at L110. Please call the shelter at 661.940.4191 RIGHT AWAY if you are interested in adopting any of the dogs I post. If you are interested in adopting a dominant breed (Pit/Rott./Mastiff/Chow/Sharpei), ask to be transferred to the Lancaster shelter directly to request a temperament evaluation for the purpose of adoption (required prior to adoption on dominant breeds). If you are local adopter (within CA/reasonable distance to come in to adopt), you CAN do this over the phone (you will be an IP/interested party). Get a name who you speak with and ask for a Supervisor or the OIC AT the Lancaster shelter if the operator declines your request. Explain where you live and that you are a serious adopter, that can not just make a lengthy trip to Lancaster just to request an evaluation. As per Dir. of Operations, you do NOT necessarily have to request an evaluation in person, but they will ask some qualifying questions to be sure you are serious and not just trying to get a dog extended by requesting an evaluation. If you are out of state, are a networker, or work with a non-LACO partnered rescue (they have caller ID and they can look up which rescues are partnered), they will NOT allow you to request an evaluation over the phone. You have to be a LACO partnered rescue with a PID# OR private adopter. This shelter is a publicly funded County shelter with a high rate of strays and owner turn ins and therefore considered high kill. if you are interested in any dogs I have listed, I urge you to immediately get in touch with the shelter for their adoption procedure. I have seen it too many times where dogs have lost their lives because someone waited just ONE day too long... Adoption fees at this shelter are $120 or less. There might a $20 license fee for LACO residents. All fees include vaccines, micro chip and spay/neuter. Unaltered dogs are released after their spay/neuter, unless they get a waiver due to age or health. The Lancaster, CA shelter is located at 5210 W. Ave. I Lancaster, CA 93536 (661) 940-4191 Hours: Monday – Thursday: 12:00 PM – 7:00 PM Friday, Saturday, and Sunday: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM Closed Holidays Directions: Take the 14 Freeway and exit at Ave. I, Go 3 miles West to shelter.
