LAST APPEAL BEFORE I HIT THE SACK This message is to the people of my community. People of Vietnamese heritage. Once upon a time, the country where our parents and forefathers came from was under siege. Vietnam was under occupation and at war with the mightiest, both economically and military of foreign forces. It was at war with The United States of America. This post isnt about American foreign policy albeit its still as brutal today as it was before. This post is about the the people who helped bring about the end of the Vietnam War. These are the strangers who made themselves heard on behalf of our parents and forefathers. The strangers who could not live with the blood of others being split in their name. The people who could not sleep at night if they did not use the voice they were gifted to speak out for the less fortunate. Many of us probably wouldnt even be here today enjoying our freedoms if these strangers had decided to stay at home rather than converge in the masses to protest against their government. Imagine the war had continued for another 10 years? Food for thought. We must all be grateful for the selfless actions of so many, and the time has now come for us to give something back. We have a chance to be on the right side of history. History is calling us now to be the difference. Lets be the difference!!
