LATEST polling suggests Labor would easily snatch back the seat of Cairns if an election were held today. A phone survey of about 670 people in the Cairns electorate has revealed high levels of voter dissatisfaction, with Labor holding a 59 to 41 lead over the LNP on a two-party preferred basis. When quizzed on who would get their first preference vote if the election was held on the same day, 44.8 per cent of respondents chose Labor, followed by the LNP at 31.1 per cent, the Palmer United Party at 9.9 per cent and the Greens at 9.7 per cent.
