LESSONS FROM OTHER COUNTIES The adverts in the Saturday Nation page 18 and 19 where the Kitui County Government invited the residents of Kitui to apply for tenders and contracts is a wake up call to Governor Mr Daniel Waithaka and his administration with a knack of giving all tenders and contracts to outsiders. The much criticized feeder roads construction where lorries, tippers and graders came from as far as Uganda, Burundi and Kivu region of the DRC in what was seen as the modern scramble akin to the one by colonialists underscores the insenstivity of Mr Waithaka to the plight of Nyandarua people. We must be alive to the need to empower Nyandaruans to purchase equipment and the first step is to give them preference to hire them from wherever and then lease them to the County. As matters stand we are only empowering Itonga cia kunene na Anene as we impoverish the common man of Nyandarua. We shall talk more about these things on 26th at the Ranges View. CT
