LI, NY SHELTER- Some NEW Mixed Breeds @ TOH! Here are a few new mixed breeds.. please help. DALLAS - 6588 - 3 year old female Retriever mix - 55 lbs - Stray Strangers/Novelty: Dallas approached the stranger and the doll, allowed cornering by the doll without issue, then quickly lost interest. Handling: Dallas was accepting of all handling (paws, muzzle, butt). Resources: Not tested – would not eat. Dog/Dog Interaction: Dallas was social and interested in meeting the helper dog, though a low-key player. She may enjoy play experiences with good, low-key players. Other: Dallas pulls on leash and might benefit from the use of a no-pull device (Easy Walk harness or Gentle Leader head collar). Suggested Household: Due to her size and exuberance, Dallas would be best in a household with tweens and up. bar-h,,mm-pink,tpr-wnl,h/lw-nl,mild dental dz/gingivitis,slight underbite This dog is amazing! Dallas is sweet, social, greets everyone with a tail wag, takes treats gently and not only doesnt pull on the leash, she walks right at your side! Dallas is also GREAT with other dogs. She is well mannered and playful and would do in a multi dog household or with a family that likes to take their dog to the park or other doggy friendly places. Dallas came into the shelter as a stray and now is looking for a loving home. She would do well in a home with tweens and up. She three years old, vaccinated and will be spayed and microchipped prior to adoption. Please come down to the shelter today and learn how to make Dallas apart of your family. CHEBBA - 6552 - 5 year old neutered Shepherd mix - 52lbs - O/S Strangers/Novelty: Chebba was curious and social when approached by the doll and the stranger. He lost interest quickly and became distracted. Chebba’s former owner reported that he could be snappy with strangers entering the home and with people in uniforms. Handling: Chebba tolerated all handling components (paws, muzzle, butt). Resources: Not tested – would not eat. His former owners reported that Chebba guarded food and chewies in the home, though no details were provided. Dog/Dog Interaction: Chebba was social and interested in meeting the helper dog. However, he was not tolerant of the pushy play style of the helper dog and got a little growlie. He would prefer play experiences with good, low-key dog companions. His former owner reported that Chebba has lived with other dogs, and that he is not good with cats and birds. This dog cries in his cage... LOGAN - 5547 - 2 1/2 year old neutered Retriever mix - 64lbs - Stray bar-h, mm-pink, tpr-wnl, eent-wnl, h/l-wnl, mild dental tartar, elbows have some mild calcification, otherwise appears wnl, scared and nervous but ok to handle during exam, no chip Strangers/Novelty: Logan was friendly, social and polite with both the stranger and the doll (which he lost interest in when he realized it was fake). Handling: Logan tolerated all handling components (paws, muzzle, butt). Resources: Logan was easily pushed out of the bowl. He had no interest in the chewy or in toys. Dog/Dog Interaction: Logan was social and a bit humpy with the helper dog. He may potentially be more playful with more play experiences. One of the cutest dogs Ive ever seen! DANIELLE - 6663 - 10 month old female Boxer/ Mastiff mix - 40lbs - Stray bar-h, mm-pink, tpr-wnl, eent-wnl, h/l-wnl, bilateral cherry eye, appears nsf otherwise, no chip, cropped ears Gary and Danielle came in together..! GARY - 6662 - 1 year old male Corso mix - 50 lbs - Stray bar-h, mm-pink, eent-wnl, tpr-wnl, h/l-wnl, pe-nsf, no chip nd/eth Blue (Strong Handler) -- pulls, handling (paws), social/tolerant/reflects other dogs play with dogs DAISY - 6704 - 7 year old female Neo Mastiff - 92lbs - Stray bar-h,mm-pink,tpr-wnl,h/l-wnl,upper right canine not present,had puppies recently,possible mass left mammary 1-2,lower lids bilateral entropion,mild dental dz,nd/eth Picked up as stray, hempstead PD on scene.
