LIKE FAYEMI LIKE FAYOSE- BUT FAYEMI IS SURPASSING FAYOSE Let me begging this article by borrowing a little word from Larry Wilson. A day or two after the Aurora, Colorado massacre on July 21, 2012, Stephen Prothero, a religious blogger at CNN, teased CNN readers by transposing Pope Benedict’s 2006 question from, Where was God during Auschwitz? to Where was God in Aurora? A few days later, Prothero indicated on his blog that seven basic answers could be distilled from the 10,000+ responses he received: 1. There is no God. 2. Don’t blame God, blame Satan. 3. Don’t blame God, blame us. (Human beings have free will.) 4. God was behind the massacre, and it was just (because this nation has turned its back on God). 5. God was present at the massacre with the victims, but not the perpetrator. 6. Which God? 7. Who knows? It’s a mystery. Before offering my thoughts on God’s whereabouts during the Aurora massacre (12 people killed and 58 wounded), consider these facts: Wikipedia estimates that approximately 9,500 civilians have been killed or murdered during the past 18 months in Syria. If we go back in time, we could ask, Where was God when Pol Pot, Charles Taylor, Idi Amin, Stalin, and Hitler were in power? Coming home in Ekiti too, we could ask where was God when Fayose ruled in Ekiti. The other question now is where is God when Kayode Fayemi rules because presently, he is surpassing Fayose in terms of murder in Ekiti now. Collectively, these two despots (Fayemi and Fayose) have killed more than 15 innocent people in the small Ekiti state all in the name of politics. I know that people tend to catalog the deaths of innocent people in war-torn areas as unfortunate collateral damage, but isn’t the killing in Ekiti another case of unfortunate collateral damage? Let me explain. If a soldier is engaged in warfare and he kills unarmed civilians or if an angry or insane person kills or wounds innocent people, is there a difference? In both cases, innocent people die and our judicial systems (civilian and military) say there is no difference. Predatory violence is a crime and felons are (or should be) punished accordingly. For example, you may recall that just early this year ,some people were killed, one Ayo Jeje and others all in the name of someone looking for second term at all cost. In Emere Ekiti another Mr Foluso Ogundare has just been killed. Ekiti Kete as you continue reading this article, keep this definition in mind: A tragedy occurs when a predator harms an innocent person. Predators can harm people in many different ways. When you use thugs to attack innocent people, when you use the law enforcement agencies to vilified people unnecessarily, anyway, tragedies have continued since Cain killed Abel! Fayemi during the reign of Segun Oni went on tutelage under Fayose to learn just one basic thing, “Killing opposition” Like his mentor, Fayose used to say in those days, my second term is non negotiable, he was so found of himself that he forgot that power belongs to God, please wait a minute! If anyone told Fayose then that he will not even stand for the election let alone winning, he will never believe. FAYEMI should take a cue from this and stop this killing of the innocent people because “There is no flag large enough to cover the shame of killing innocent people and God will pay everyone accordingly.” God Holds Each Person Accountable for His Actions. The Bible says that God holds a person accountable for his actions: For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil. (Ecclesiastes 12:14) For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad. (2 Corinthians 5:10) What your mentor Fayose did in his days is history today and remember “History is important. If you dont know history it is as if you were born yesterday. Ekiti Kete“I think some of us are dazzled by Fayemis rhetoric, and that people ought to begin to understand that Fayemi is going to be a mediocre Governor soon if care is not taken — which means, in our time, a dangerous governor — unless there is some movement to push him in a better direction.” Let me also add that we should be concerned about the nature of our government. The majority in Bornu, Yobe and Plateau today is often innocent. But if by neglect, ignorance, or helplessness, they couldnt overthrow their bad government and establish a better one, then they must pay the price for the sins of their government, as we are all paying for the sins of ours in Ekiti today. Killing of innocent people is blatantly wrong and we should end this by choosing wisely next time. An individual inside a state should be made secure from the social system under which he lives and that he accepts—willingly or unwillingly, because he hasnt left the state—and that others should respect his rights. We must care about the right social system, because our lives depend on it—because a political system, good or bad, is established in our name, and we bear the responsibility for it. I will conclude this by saying Dr.Fayemi “It is unwise to be too sure of ones own wisdom. It is healthy to be reminded that the strongest might weaken and the wisest might err.”I have good and Bad news for you, which one would you like to hear first? Well, I think the good one, you can only spend your second term ruling on the living not the dead. The bad one am sorry is that “Anyone who thinks sitting in church can make you a Christian must also think that sitting in a garage can make you a car.”the issue of 4+4 cannot give you second term and you are so unlucky this time because we are in the era of fast and speedy communication when people can contribute to issues not unlike the days of your Killer mentor (Fayose). “When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and loves have always won. There have been tyrants and murderers, and for a time, they can seem invincible, but in the end, they always fall. Think of it--always.” Otito Koro writes from Arlington
