LINDSAY LOHAN WAS ON DAVID LETTERMAN Wednesday night, and I watched, more out of curiosity than any abiding interest in Ms. Lohan; knowing, as do you, the sordid events in her life. However, she appeared as together as Lindsay Lohan can be together, out of court mandated rehab, and sober. In the interview you learned she meditates with the same spiritual advisor as Oprah Winfrey, and sees Mr. Winfrey as a needed mentor. Indeed, during the show she and Mr. Letterman called Ms. Winfrey and discussed Ms. Lohans progress. (Mr. Letterman also shares Ms. Winfreys spiritual advisor.) None of this I post to demean Ms. Lohan. I recognize she has issues, not wholly within her control, and therefore worthy, not of our condemnation, but understanding; an understanding she seems anxious to receive. The second guest was a 13 year nuclear physicist from Lankershire, England. His name is Jamie Edwards, and he stunned the world with his creation of a nuclear reactor. I did not know until I listened to Master Jamie, that fusion, unlike fission, leaves no nuclear waste. Lets hope this totally delightful young man continues on his mission to change the world. That was, more less, David Letterman last night.
