I learned about this fundamental element of story telling working on film scripts & thought it might make an interesting subject for music. The Turn typically happens at the end of the second act. It’s the ah-ha moment when we realize exactly what the story has been leading towards. It’s a reveal that shows us that our heroes might actually be the villains or vice versa. It’s in that very moment that things finally make sense regardless of the outcome or resolution. Our goal was to write music that reflected this reveal rather than the moments before or after.
