LJ Shores Time: night Temp: still toasty 70 degrees Viz: fluctuation 12’ – 15’ patchy Nice leisurely dive tonight – it was a long walk to the sea with the low tide, but made for a quick kick out. All the usual suspects were out, including lots of Octos of all sizes, Cusk Eels, Sarc. Fringeheads, a Sheepcrab sporting lots of lettuce on its head and tons of krill. Arriving at VP, I looked up to see a rather large pumpkin resting comfortably…a Barred Sand Bass was communing with it, then some Vermillion came by. Little bit of surge at this point, and a noticeable thermo. I am a wuss…I ascended 1’ to be in the “warmer than warm waters”... Onward to the big kelp were the nice big Kelpfish was sleeping, all wrapped up like a burrito in the kelp. Onward some more to find the Seahorse, whom I spent only moments with, then left it alone. The Shiner Perch did a nice job of accompanying me, but also obscured the view quite a bit. Back in the shallows, lots of little Thornbacks, little Stingrays and a lone Lobster. A great dive. jackie
