LONELIEST YET MOST SECURED PLACE ON EARTH Suroy ta sa prisohan. What a destination! Ako? Giimbitar ko nimo? Seriously speaking, in your lifetime, nakaadto na kag jail? If yes, kapila pod? The least popular ni nga bisitahon except when you fall in any of the ff. category: 1. Naa kay relative nga na-priso. 2. You’re a religious leader sharing the gospel. 3. You’re a politico giving food items ( Pasko, Valentines o Election time!) 4. Or else, you’re a jail officer yourself- natural, labaw pa kas bisita didto oi, hehehe! 23 years ago, I couldn’t imagine for the life of me nga maminyo kog jail officer. But even years before that, God uniquely prepared my heart by letting me visit jails. Kuyog ka sa prisohan? “Yes,” I said without thinking. I was transported into a different world. Inside, either tutokan nimo ang mga tawo sulod sa rehas nga moingon kag, “Nah, mao nay naani nila. Dapat lang” or you mutter, “Naa pa kaha silay ugma?”. Possible pod nga lahi imong hunahunaon; it depends kasi on your mindset. But I have this feeling nga related ra tanan ang mga magdagan-dagan sa atong utok. Maskin unsa ka daghang tawo sulod sa prisohan, labi na kung “ting-dalaw”, it remains the loneliest place on earth. Self-explanatory. Yet, it’s also the most secured place. Alangan, with all the guards nga gaalirong, con todo ang bantay coz it’s human nature to be obsessed with FREEDOM! Di ta gusto nga prisohon oi. Maayog kanding ta nga hiktan, andam para kaldereta, ha3x! Nia koy nahinuktokan dugay na: Kung ang usa ka criminal wa pa madakpi, manghimaraot ta ug manggigil nga unta madakpan na ug mapriso. Sa ngilngig ug kaso, makatuaw pa ta usahay, “Death sentence na lang unta.” Pero kung naa na sulod sa prisohan, malooy na ta. We reach out to them by sharing some of their basic needs- sabon, tsinelas, toothbrush, food. Ampoan nato sila. Ipa-ila-ila si Lord Jesus. Maminaw sa ilang mga hinaing. Gani, ang jail nurses mataranta man kung naay prisoners nga magdaot. Kung need ang hospital confinement, antosan nilag hatod ug bantay sa hospital. My friend, that’s what we call “sharing God’s GRACE.” Si God man gud, both loving and just. I John 4:8-God is love. Exodus 34:7-Yet He does not leave the guilty unpunished. Kuyog kag visit sa jail? Huna2 sa ko ha…Sige na, let’s broadcast to the prisoners that Jesus wants to be their Lord and Savior. Surrendered na sila sa human authorities. It’s high time for them to surrender to Jesus, too. They’ll then discover REAL JOY & SECURITY IN JESUS. Mahimo dayon ang jail nga most memorable place on earth for the prisoners kung…ATONG I-SHARE SI JESUS SA ILA. Gusto ka?
