LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – A Southern California earthquake today 2014 has struck near Hemet. A series of light Southern California earthquakes today January 27, 2014 hit in the predawn morning hours. Damage assessment is pending. Officials tell news that a 3.2 magnitude Southern California earthquake struck just after 4:42 am PST today. The quake had virtually no depth. USGS indicates to news that the quake began only four miles below ground level. As a result the quake could be felt across the immediate vicinity. USGS indicates to news that the quake was seven miles south of Idyllwild. The quake was eleven miles southeast of Valle Vista and thirteen miles east of East of Hemet. Reps tell news that the quake was also fifteen miles east of the town of Hemet. Today’s quake is near the epicenter of a December 30 quake last year. That quake was nine miles east of Valle Vista. The quake was fourteen miles of Hemet. Mapping revealed that the quake was east of Palm Springs, southeast of Beaumont. It started east of Perris and west of Indio. Several quakes have hit the Southland in the last year. In August last year another quake struck approximately twelve miles from El Segundo and caused shaking in Torrance fourteen miles to the west. The quake was twenty-five miles from Los Angeles’ downtown as well. More signs of the times...are you ready to fly?
