LUSAKA, EASTERN PROVINCE RUN OF OF FUEL Filling stations in and around Lusaka have run-out of diesel and petrol in an unexplained circumstances. Lundazi district in Easten province has had no fuel for the past one week. Chipata district is also on the brink of running dry as only a few service stations had fuel by last weekend. A check around Lusaka show that a number of filling stations have no fuel forcing motorists to queue up in a few that had the commodity. Long queues of vehicles were seen from in Kabwata, Woodlands, and town center areas. There has been no explanation so far on the shortage of the commodity from the PF government that has so far admitted to having a serious budget deficit and is literally bankrupt. Government recently removed fuel and mealie meal subsidies with a view to address the economic problems but that has not helped much.
