LUTZENKIRCHEN KILLED: Former Auburn Football tight end Philip Lutzenkirchen, who scored more touchdowns at his position than any other player in Tigers history, died after a traffic accident near LaGrange, Ga. early Sunday morning. The Columbus (Ga.) Ledger-Enquirer reports that Lutezkirchen was ejected from a Chevy Tahoe that was driven by U. of Georgia baseball player Joseph Davis, who was also killed. The SUV apparently missed a stop sign at a dead-end intersection, driving into a churchyard and overturning several times. Lutzenkirchen was thrown from the SUV; he was not wearing a seat belt. Lutzenkirchen, whose career at Auburn ended with an injury at Ole Miss in 2012, had signed with the St. Louis Rams of the NFL, but he was later cut. Lutzenkirchen was 23.
