LaTanya and Bill Smith Family Update: Bill and LaTanya posted the below message yesterday and as always, I wanted to share it with you. Tre Smith update with LaTanya Smith. Tré update: Day 120 Tres skin is healing and he is becoming more aware. He did well in therapy today. He got back to 60° on the tilt table and tolerated it well. He also sat in the stretcher chair for 4 hours yesterday and today and stayed awake the whole time. Tres schedule is a dressing change in the morning lasting 1-2 hours followed by 2 hours therapy, (Actually, 4 hours therapy counting 1/2 hour of stretching before his first dressing change and during the dressing change) next theres 1 hour on the tilt table, then 4 hours in the stretcher chair followed by bed rest before his second dressing change in the evening. We have been learning hands on and helping during his dressings and therapy to the point that there is a lesser number of staff needed during his dressings. The doctors are planning on another surgery in a couple of weeks or so to patch up some open areas that his nurses have been treating. He is steadily improving and we are patiently waiting for the day when he will be able to talk to us and walk again.
