Ladies and Gentlemen Welcome to A special edition of The Ground Xero Superstar Spotlight.Tonight The Guest of Honor is a man that i know as not only a friend but also he is my family. This man has gave his life to the world of professional wrestling.Ladies and Gentlemen please welcome Brent Fleenor. How are you doing Main Event Brent ? Brent: Ronnie....I couldnt be better.... And u must say....it is an HONOR being interviewed.... FINALLY....buy the TRUE student of the game my friend....I would have it no other way than THIS particular interview... My most important...done by none other....fire away young Dayvault!!!!! Q:How long have you been in GXW Brent: 8 years...since the beginning Q:Explain how you got into GXW And into this business Brent:Scott Williams....Dave Hebners son-in-law was on a job site in Prince George Co one afternoon, in a scaffold 20 ft or so in the air.... I yelled up to him and his coworkers....he said my voice was The Loudest hed ever heard....he introduced me to Dave Cullen on a Tuesday My first event was the Satdurday after....man.. What a long time ago it seems Q:Youve called a lot of matches, which do you think has been the biggest or best match you called ? Brent:Thats an easy one. Pharaoh v Chris Escobar-Hopewell Community Center 2008. What a massive match that was. Back and forth for 60+ minutes.....Pharoah actually hit Esco with the cash box.... Esco balanced on the security railing....into a Moonsault....holy mackeral...it was memorable Q:You have some big news to tell the GXW Nation,Could you go ahead and make that announcement ? Brent:Yes....the announcement. With a heavy heart, and deep sadness ive decided to retire from GXW.....and the sport altogether. There comes a time....when plainly....its just.... Time. Ive met thousands of great people, you being one, and have been around some of the greatest in the sport. I have no regrets. I wasnt the best....but thats what I gave. At the end of those Saturday nights sometimes I was so exhausted I would actually weep. Ive given it everything....I hope they all noticed. The outpouring of has been incredible.... I didnt know so many cared... Brent, whether or not you know it or not,you made a big impact in not only my life but in the life of the guys and girls in the back and also the GXW Nation. Q:Who were your inspirations growing up ? Brent:Well....in the business.... There are two....Bob Caudle, and the late Gordon Solie. Gentlemen and rich with knowledge. Forever thankful I was around for their broadcasts. And in sports in general....Id have to say Vin Scully. What control over the language he has....and the pictures his words produce. I was watching a golf event once, and a players shot went off course and into the water hazzard.....Scullys response....well it appears that that ball is buried like a deep, dark secret..... Magic, dude Q:.If there is anything you would tell people who would like to become a ring announcer, what would it be ? Brent:Give it all you got. Remember, this crowd youre working has come to see wrestling.... Act like it. Electrify them....without stealing the show. And oh yeah.... When in front of this crowd....dont ever look at one person..... Look over the crowd.... At the tops of their heads.....eye contact = falling apart. The folks in the locker room depend on how good or bad you make them out to be.....sell it.... Well Mr Fleenor,That is all the time we have for tonight.Thank you for the 8 years that you have gave to GXW.Is there any parting and final words you would like to say to the GXW Nation ? Brent:Only this....GXW was created cultivated and cared for.. By folks who connected to the sport of professional wrestling. Growing up, I was raised by a single mom, who when I was 10 years old could no longer afford childcare.. I raised myself from then on, and bring do young I was not always comfortable being by myself...and on Sat.. There was wrestling. Mid Atlantic Championship at noon....Championship Wrestling from Memphis @ 1....World Class Wrestling at 2....Smoky Mtn at 3.../the three stooges for a two hours on WRNL out of Raleigh.. Then...the measuring stick. Georgia Championship... And the Rev of the Church if wrestling.. Gordon Solie... I paid homage to the old guard.....and tried to share with a new generation....be respectful of this grand old sport.... I was and am....forever a wrestling fan Well Brent Fleenor once again,Thank you for the Memories and I hope that whoever takes your place can do it as great as you did but lets admit that there is only one Main Event Brent.
