Lamb of God - Redneck Redneck is the seventh single from the heavy metal band Lamb of God, from their fourth album Sacrament, as well as the first single from the album. A music video was also produced for the song. Vocalist Randy Blythe described the songs meaning in an interview with the magazine Metal Hammer: Generally, its not about any one person in particular. Its about people in the music industry whose egos become needlessly inflated and they show it. Its a general song. Its applicable to anyone in their life. If a fan thinks, Oh, well, this guy is a prick, go ahead and take it and make it yours. However, in 2009 in an interview with Guitar World, guitarist Mark Morton revealed that the song was, in fact, written about lead singer Blythe. He made it clear in this quote about the song. Its pretty clear to everyone who the song [Redneck] is about. Just watch the Killadelphia DVD, and youll see what was going on. I love Randy like a brother, but that doesnt mean we dont have our problems. So if I have to be the one to say something, then I will. And if that means that someones gonna get punched in the mouth, then someones gonna get punched in the mouth... And if that means someones going to have to sing a lyric about themselves, then theyre gonna sing a lyric about themselves. The song was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance at the Grammy Awards of 2007. It appeared as Brian Posehns introductory song on the Comedy Central Roast of Bob Saget and is featured on the track listing of THQs Saints Row 2 and SCEAs ATV Offroad Fury 4 video games. ~GirlWithDragonTat
