Lamborghini bought his first Ferrari, after a short period of time he considered the car noisy, rough and not a proper road car unlike the Maserati and Alpha he had. Coming from a mechanical background (WW2 Italian air force) Lamborghini took a look under the bonnet and discovered that the clutch on his Ferrari was faulty, and actually the the same clutch that he used on his tractors. He takes the car back to Enzo and asked for a better replacement to which Ferrari responded, saying that he was just a tractor maker, and could not know anything about sports cars. The rest is history. Lamborghini is not owned by FIAT. only Ferrari is. Audi/VW own Lamborghini. Interesting facts: Lamborghini actually used some stolen parts from WW2 machinery to build his tractors and start his company Interesting fact: Enzo told Lamborghini he was just a tractor maker now FIAT (a tractor maker) owns his company.
