Last Beatle concert memory from me – August 28, 1966, when the Beatles were at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. My best friend, Marsha, and I went to L.A. to stay with her aunt. I was 14-years old, suffering from an intense case of Beatle “unrequited love.” I kept a 5-year diary from 1965-1969. This is directly from my diary, the one place where I could bare my heart and soul: 08-27-66 – Dear Diary, went up to Mash’s aunts. Tomorrow is the concert! Oh, I can hardly wait! I feel so much like crying because I love Paul so & I can’t stop it!!! 08-28-66 – Dear Diary, I never thought today would get here. Never! Oh, but it did & now it’s all gone! If I don’t love Paul now, right now, I never will. They were fab! We went with Karen at about 5:00 & got there around 6:30. I don’t really know how I felt or looked during the concert or after on the outside, but on the inside, all I could feel was a very strong love that keeps building up & boiling over. I’m in love with Paul! I love Paul McCartney! The show was marvelous! I almost went into complete shock. I mean, when they came on, it was so unreal, as if it was all a dream. Paul sang “Yesterday.” It was so beautiful. I cried so hard when they left, I almost died. My Paul left me. I was a nobody, just another fan screaming & crying. What can I do? Ever? All I can do it pray & hope this love is real; the way it feels now. It hurts to think that I might never find out. Someday, I hope, someday… 08-30-66 – Dear Diary, Went to the airport to see the Beatles off. N760PA was the number on their plane. Paul was darling! I can’t make it without him, I realized as I watched the plane disappear. I love Paul! I do!
