Last night, 8-10 loud gunshots were heard on our block. Kinda shook people up. This morning, my 8-yr-old, Spurgeon, and his friends found seven 9mm casings on the sidewalk four houses down. Evidently, the kids were discussing this for quite a while. He came into my office and dropped the shells on my desk and said, Can I call the cops. I want to be done with this. I chuckled to myself and couldnt help but follow through on his request. DPD came out and walked the scene with him and heard his thoughts about how it might have gone down. Thankful for Commander Calo and the good folks at District 2. I believe you care about our community and you made this young man feel important.
