Last night I went to bed around 1ish after reading my book. About the time I’m drifting off I hear a loud bang or crash or something that startles me and keeps me awake for another hour. Finally sleep— drifting..then a jack hammer starts up and disco lights are flashing in my room. It is 3 O’clock in the morning. I look out my bay window which is 10 feet away from the new stop sign they are installing. Mr. Hardhat and I stare at each other for a solid minute. Michael grabs his pants and runs out barefooted- I hear him exclaim as he runs out the door “ARE YOU SERIOUS”????? I’m trying to get a picture of this but it didn’t turn out lol.. This could be funny if it weren’t happening to me. He walks back in tells me it appears that someone ran over the stop sign… hence first loud noise.. And apparently it is the law to replace it IMMEDIATELY. You would think a temp might work-- but---NO..guess not. So I go back to bed trying to fight off the seizure the lights are threatening and I stay awake for another hour or two. Michael just gives up and gets up. Our neighbor several houses down caught Michael outside this morning..said he heard the ruckus too. He saw a white Mustang parked there first. I guess that was the car that hit the sign. I never heard the cops.. don’t’ know who turned it in. Who notices a stop sign missing at 3 O’Clock in the morning??-- It certainly wasn’t going to be the people that ran over it. Mr. City was very apologetic –it wasn’t’ his fault-- but OMG--LOUD!! A Jackhammer? Who wakes up to a jackhammer at 3 a.m? His truck looked like a live circus moving down the road too and it was all happening in my front yard. I thought I was dreaming….Crazy NIGHT-- but sure enough..we have a new stop sign. : )
