Last night I went to see the movie of Vera Brittains much-loved memoir, Testament of Youth. Brittain was an early 20th-century feminist and outspoken, brave pacifist. Her intellectual and political evolution translate wonderfully in the film. Its on for the last time today in Sydney as part of the British Film Festival. (Palace cinema, Leichhardt.) Not sure that it will have mainstream distribution so catch it if you can.
