Its irresponsible and immoral that instead of debating and voting on war, congressional leaders chose to recess Congress for nearly two months, said Congressman Justin Amash (R-MI), following the breaking news of the offensive. ISIS is evil, but that fact alone doesnt give the president authority to launch offensive strikes in Syria or Iraq. Under our Constitution, it is the responsibility of Congress to commence war.
