The offensive, launched in secret on , included a mix of fighter jets and bomber aircraft, accompanied by a barrage of ship-launched Tomahawk missiles. Its irresponsible and immoral that instead of debating and voting on war, congressional leaders chose to recess Congress for nearly two months, said Congressman Justin Amash (R-MI), following the breaking news of the offensive.
