Last night firefighters responded to an activated carbon monoxide alarm at approximately 3:30am to a single family dwelling on Munro Street. Upon arrival crews began to investigate the residence. Firefighters found a reading of 144ppm inside the home. The Fire Chief credits the fact that the home owner had a working carbon monoxide alarm installed with avoiding a potential tragedy Have you installed a working carbon monoxide alarm in your home? Make sure you have one installed outside your sleeping area if you have a fuel fired appliance in your home. On average homes in Ontario have 6 appliances inside the home that can produce carbon monoxide.
