Last night...for the first time ever, I had a dream, one of the most vivid dreams Ive ever had about someone who has passed away. My dear friend Tonya, who recently took her own life, came to me as if it truly happened. I was at church with my daughters, a very big church, during a service to celebrate her life when she and her daughter Nicole Russo, walked up and hugged me and sat down. I remembered every detail of this dream. How beautiful her hair was, how bright she looked in her lime green top and tan skit with a beautiful pair a shoes that wrapped around her ankles. I asked her what she was doing there and she simply said, to say goodbye..to say I love you..and to say that I am okay. The entire time we spoke and hugged each other, I could hear this song in the background...loud and clear as day. When I woke up, the memory was immediate and I can only say I very very rarely recall any dreams I have had. I didnt immediately know the song or all the lyrics but after humming it with one or two words here or there, my co-worker finally nailed it. I have asked myself a lot today...why this song. I would love to hear others interpretation but the more I listened, I felt that this song symbolized Tonyas relationship with God. She loved every aspect of the outdoors...the ocean, the mountains, the sky, the sunrise...every aspect of nature. I found such comfort in seeing her as I feel I have in the lyrics of this song. I dont believe for one second that this song was an accident...its so far fetched. It isnt recent, nor a song I even knew even half the lyrics to...but there it was. Annies song...Tonya, I will always love you, I will never forget you, I wish you were here, and I pray you are now okay. Mark Chase...I can only pray you feel your wifes presence as closely as I did last night. I actually woke up feeling like we had spent the day together. A dream I will always cherish. Tonya Russo Nash...may you be at peace.
