Last night, my wifes colleagues, an Indian physician couple, - TopicsExpress

Last night, my wifes colleagues, an Indian physician couple, invited us to their Diwali celebration dinner they hosted at their house (it is Hindu celebration/festivity). The house was lit beautifully with lights, people dress up beautifully (especially ladies), and it was a wonderful dinner. More than 30 Indian people gathered (15 SUVs in front of house!) and the host couple joked they wholeheartedly hope we are not overwhelmed, being non-Indian (we both are from Japan, FYI). We told them one of our best friends in Atlanta is Indian, the Sharmas, and told about the hospitality we had received from them. Long time ago, I had an Indian housemate and learned a little from him (and of course from the Sharmas) to satisfy my curiosity, but last night I learned a lot more about culture associated with Indian heritage. Since it was a celebration occasion, not a general mingling, I refrained from propagating about Nepal House Society which is not irrelevant to India in many apects - After all, in my view, it is about Compassion, and itd be a wrong occasion for me to solicit. NAMASTE for including us to the festivity, and oh my, I had one of best, authentic curry dishes in my entire life! (I regret I have no photo to post with this message)
