Last night we played the Kenny Community Schools community - TopicsExpress

Last night we played the Kenny Community Schools community carnival. It is truly summer now, with heat, humidity, and mosquitos. You know what mosquitos like to do? They like to find musicians who are playing music outside, preferably for an audience so that their hands are professionally occupied (meaning said musician CANT remove hands from instrument for insect-slapping), and feast on said musicians juicy, irritatingly itchy spots: scalp, wrists, ankles, elbows, etc. Despite all of the brutality and bloodshed we had a really fun time! The highlight was playing a fiddle set of Eighth of January and Cripple Creek for the HULA HOOP CONTEST! Man, you should have seen those kids go! We had them spinning around, jumping up and down, skipping, balancing on one leg... these kids were pros! There was even a boy right in front of us eating a bag of Doritos whilst hooping! TONIGHT (Fri May 30) we will be playing our first show if the summer at Sea Salt Eatery! Since it is between Memorial Day and Labor Day, we play 5 - 7 PM. Its FREE, ALL AGES, the food is delicious, the scenery is spectacular, and, hey, lets face it: its a lot of fun! And tomorrow (Sat May 31) Kim and I play the Northeast Minneapolis Farmers Market, 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM, FREE & ALL AGES! Were excited to be playing this market for the first time, and I BELIEVE it is their opening day, too! Yall come!
