Last night we were nicely moored on the quay at Preveza, but we had - TopicsExpress

Last night we were nicely moored on the quay at Preveza, but we had decided to move south. We left the harbour at 9.30 pm with the intention of waking in the early hours of the morning. We anchored off and went to bed setting the alarm for 2 am.The wind had picked up and we were rolling about in the swell. This seems to be the theme of the weather this season and the weather in the UK may be better than here.At midnight Paula said the wind had turned and we were still rolling about. On closer investigation the anchor had dragged,so we were very close to the recently installed swimming floats and we decided it was time to go.The moon was rising in the sky so there was some visibility and we sorted out,to head out to sea to start the 50 mile journey to Preveza. There was a heavy swell and its probably a good job we could not see the condition of the sea.As usual the wind was either no existent or right on the nose,so we had little choice but to motor the whole way.It was a very long night and we eventually dropped our anchor in the north bay at Preveza at 10 am this morning. The saving grace was our chart plotter and the full moon which at least was comforting. We have been to sleep today, but the winds very strong and it feels quite cold. Its almost like May weather in July.Tomorrow we are heading for Vonista where we hope to meet up with Pam and Pete for the next phase of the season. We are noticing thus far that there seems to be more Austrians around this season and less italians, but maybe this will change next month.
