Last nights sad happenings had not ended when I posted. A little - TopicsExpress

Last nights sad happenings had not ended when I posted. A little while later, when I took my itty bitty mouse, the survivor of the four, out to feed her, she scrambled onto my hand all excited as usual. But as I loaded the syringe I noticed that she had suddenly become very quiet. She had died. I could not believe this, tried to revive her, brought her around once with a few breaths, but then she was gone again. Just like that, it had to have been a heart attack. I finally had to give up, even if I could have brought her back the brain damage would have been significant. I just sat there and stared at her in disbelief, so happy go lucky one moment and dead the next... Today (well, yesterday by now) I got in yet another baby gray boy in dire straights. I dont know If I can bring him back from teetering at deaths door step. His sibling had died the day before, and the finders had not kept him warm and on top of that fed him kitten formula while he was ice cold. Every drop I manage to get into him he regurgitates a minute later, still bringing up curdled kitten formula. He has received several rounds of subcutaneous fluids and his kidneys and intestines are still working but he is very close to a coma. He needs lots of prayers, poor little boy! I will be working through the night trying to get a drop at a time into him to get his digestive tract working again. He is not rgetting formula at this point, only a very gentle pre-digested specialty diet that hopefully his system will tolerate. He needs calories, he cannot hold on with only fluid therapy.
