Last week, 15-year-old Muhammad Sinokrot was buried by his family in East Jerusalem. The schoolboy was shot in the head by Israeli soldiers in an unprovoked shooting on 31 August. He died in hospital a week later and was buried on 8 September. Two days later, Eissa al-Qotri, aged 22, was shot and killed by Israeli soldiers in Al-Mari camp near Ramallah, during a dawn raid on the camp by Israeli troops. Muhammads mother had asked him to go and buy bread for dinner when he was shot. “His crime was being a Palestinian and living in Jerusalem under a system that does not see us as worthy human beings,” said one of the family’s neighbours. “Yesterday it was Muhammad Sinokrot, and tomorrow it could be my son’s turn,” he added. “All Palestinians are targeted and must collectively rise up against this racist state.”
