Last week Talya was asked by her teacher to draw a picture of her family... she decided to draw Sherif, me, Murad, Aleyna , Belgin and YOU Khaled... I asked her how come? And this was the conversation that followed: Me: So Talya why did you draw a picture of Khaled, Aleyna and Belgin? Talya: Because they are my family Me: Yes of course, but you never met Khaled, do you know where he is? Talya: Yes, I told Ms. Aparna he is dead... Me: (a bit shocked and overwhelmed) Um ya, and what did Ms. Aparna tell you? Talya: She told me its ok to draw him Me: OK and... umm.... but u know he is not here right Talya? Talya: Yes Mummy, but he is in my heart Me - OH... tears of confusion rolling down my face while walking through the school corridors... U managed to reach her heart also Khaled, thats all I can think... waow... Moral of the story... U may not presently be here, but you sure have impacted people you know and havent met... and people whom never really knew you...have u engraved in their hearts and love a soul that was so REAL and respected and still lives amongst us...Im so touched and proud that Talya looks up and feels ur presence in our lives and loves you in her own special way... May you rest in peace Dr@eko... love you and miss you!
