Last year in April, is when our worst fears were confirmed. I could not fathom that my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. It felt like my world came crashing down and the look of disbelief on her face was the worst. It felt like a dream. To be honest, I questioned God literally, I asked him, Is this why I came to serve you Lord? I was very angry, and I felt like every breath in me was taken, but it didnt take me long to get it together. I knew God had a bigger and better plan. So the good news is after a year of treatments that included a mastectomy, 2 surgeries & radiation my mom’s cancer is gone and she’s still here. She is a SURVIVOR!! I thank God everyday for the gift of life! Only by the divine intervention of God, can I say that my mothers diagnosis has been a blessing. My faith & relationship with Christ is how I was able to face such an trying time in my life. Unfortunately, not every ending is as my mothers, so I say to those who face such a diagnosis, or who have lost loved ones, know that God is the only one to carry you through. I say this, because Christ carried not only me, but my mother. To you mother, I am immensely blessed to have you as my mother. Your faith, strength & courage encourages me everyday to be the woman of God, you have shown me to be. I know at times, you may feel like the world is on your shoulders, but I thank God because he is always there to lift it off of you. Through, your smiles, tears & trials, you have always showed strength. You have been my backbone, no matter what. You are selfless, generous, unconditional, inspiring, and I could not ask for a better mother. I thank God for our restored relationship. I thank him for our journey that he has us on together as mother & daughter. We celebrate you mother, not just today, but everyday!! You are our EVERTYTHING!! We love you mama!! Annie J.
