Late Saturday morning I went to The Triangle to see a movie. I want to say how impressed I am every time I go there. For the majority of the last 10 years this place was a ghost town. I expected the entire place to be torn down eventually because every shop was closed, every restaurant long ago left and the only hints of life was the struggling theatre. Then something strange happened. Just a few years ago 24 Hour Fitness moved in, restaurants starting moving in, life returned to this long considered eyesore. Today the place is packed all the time, full of people of all ages, the air is filled with activity, life and excitement. I suppose I can give credit to the business people, builders and wealthy risk takers. I also have to credit our City Council and Planning Commissioners who have created a business atmosphere that has allowed something this amazing to happen. I also feel our current Mayor had a lot to do with this, either directly or indirectly, by creating a climate that Costa Mesa is a great city and a city worth investing in. The owners of The Triangle must be very pleased. I thank them. I look forward to another 4 years of nice improvements such as this in our city and I will cast my vote for Mayor Righeimer November4th.
